Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (2015)


A popular franchise in its own right, rime buffs will love this chapter set in Victorian-era England, where our protagonist jumps into the world of organized crime in order to wrestle control of the city from the hands of his old enemies, the Templars.

Battlefield Hardline (2015)

The best of the Battlefield franchise, this one is set within Miami and you are a player in the war on drugs. You play an officer who discovers corruption within his own force and goes out on his own to get to the bottom of the conspiracy. But just how many people can actually be involved?

The Godfather (2006)

PS2, XB, PC, PSP, X360, PS3, Wii

The movies are so good that you know the game is going to pack a lot of punch. But you don’t get to play the big boss from the Francis Ford Coppola world, instead, you play one of the characters working behind the scenes, putting things in place so that events unfold the way the big boss wants. You even get to plant the iconic horse’s head.

Grand Theft Auto 5 (2013)


It is impossible to have a list of epic crime games and not include something from the GTA franchise. We chose number 5 as it is the first in the series that doesn’t lock you into the perspective of an individual character, so it lets you explore more. The narrative is good, the action fun, and the challenges grow as your graduate from small crimes, to much, much bigger ones.

Hitman (2016)


A classic, but a classic for a reason, if you haven’t played before, jump into this reboot of the earlier series which sees Agent 47 backtracking and assassinating his targets. You haven’t been told the big picture, but with each new hit, you get more information to try and figure out the master plan behind your orders and what it will mean for your personally.

Mafia III (2016)


While all the games in the Mafia series are good, III stands out. In this episode you play a character who is out to et revenge on a mob family that has done him wrong. Collect weapons and gain information to complete your very personal mission.

Payday: The Heist (2011)


If you have ever imagined that you might have what it takes to rib a bank, now is the opportunity to test your metal. Plan your robbery, control your hostages, figure out how to get your money out, and try and survive the shootout with the police. All in a day’s work for a season’s bank robber.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018)


Take your crime spree to the west as Arthur Morgan, the leader of the Va der Linge gang. In this world guns are the law, and both the sheriffs and the outlaws are brutal killers and will do whatever it takes to claims money and power for themselves.

Watch Dogs 2 (2016)


Building on the success of the original, this game puts you behind Marcus, a hacker living in San Francisco who joins a bigger group of hackers. But, of course, you are the good guys (not that the authorities agree), exposing a company and making the public aware of their dangerous software that is actually harming the people of the city.

Yakuza Kiwami (2016)

PS3, PS4, PC

This is another excellent crime game franchise, and it is hard to choose just one to go on this list, but Kiwami stands out as it explains the back stories of the crime families, so sets you up to play all the other games. Get to know the Yakuza and understand the distinctively Japanese approach to crime and honor.
