10 of the Best Family Movies on Hulu


Being stuck at home may get a little boring at times, and you might be trying to find a family-friendly activity that everyone can enjoy. Although we can’t go to the movie theatres right now doesn’t mean you can’t bring the theater experience to your house. Hulu is filled with fantastic family movies that will leave everyone laughing and enjoying a quiet evening at home.

Grab some popcorn, your favorite drink, and of course some sweets and settle into a fun family movie night with these great options from Hulu.


A stunt dog named Bolt doesn’t realize that his Hollywood lifestyle is fake and goes on an insane adventure with his friends to help find and rescue his owner and defeat the evil forces behind them. This movie is fun, cute, and features a whole bunch of fuzzy animals. John Travolta voices the main character, and Disney did a great job on this hilarious movie featuring a dog who thinks he has superpowers. 

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World 


How to Train Your Dragon is a trilogy series that follows a kid named Hiccup and his dragon Toothless. The Hidden World is the final movie in the trilogy, and the animation and story alone will get you. This last movie is heartfelt and moving and really wraps the entire series up nicely. 


Smallfoot is a musical comedy that features a Yeti that comes down from his mountain and encounters humans. Both groups thought the other was a mythical creature and not real, and from there, this musical just gets funnier and funnier. The graphics are great, and the movie is filled with awesome jokes throughout it. 

Trolls: World Tour 

Originally set to be in the box off, Trolls: World Tour headed off to Hulu instead. The story continues to follow Poppy and Branch and their insane world of music and original songs. Kids will love the visuals and music, and honestly, parent’s will have a good time watching it too. 

Wonder Park 

A girl heads into her own imagination when her mother gets sick and thinks up an amusement park. This allows her to get her creative spark back and deal with the issues at home. The story has an excellent lesson for children, and it is a feel-good family flick. 


If you have some older family members, this Transformers spin-off is a great option. You see the original story of Bumblebee and the movie is filled with tons of action and explosions like the original Transformer movies. The film features John Cena and Hailee Steinfeld and is excellent for older children to watch. 

Curious George

Adapted from the book by H.A. Rey and Margret Rey, you follow a man in a yellow hat and his loveable primate friend as they head off on an adventure that the entire family will enjoy. Voices for the movie include fan favorites like Will Ferrell, Drew Barrymore, Eugene Levy, and more. 

Dora and the Lost City of Gold


If your kid loves Dora the Explorer, this live-action movie is perfect for your house. Dora sets off on an adventure to save her parents and of course she has the help of her cousin Diego, magical backpack, and four-legged friend. The movie is funny and sweet, and your kids will love seeing their favorite animated friend come to life in this movie. 

Free Willy

A classic that your family will enjoy together. Follow the adventure of a boy and his goal to set a whale free. This movie was outstanding in the box office and even made over $150 million on a $20 million budget, and it launched a franchise that has even more successful movies. 

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part 

The LEGO Movie has been killing it in the box offices lately and it is because of how creative and fun they are. This animated film is a sequel to the original and follows all your favorite LEGO friends on a new adventure. 


Just because you’re stuck at home doesn’t mean you can’t have fun while being there. All of these movies are great for a family night filled with laughter, treats, and a good time with the people you love the most.
