This new Polish movie is based on the erotic novel trilogy by Blanka Lipinska. It follows a young woman from Warsaw who is in an unfulfilling relationship who thinks that she has found what she is really looking for with a dominant Sicilian man.
He imprisons her for 365 days, saying that at the end of this period she will be in love with him. Europe’s answer to Fifty Shades.
American Honey (2016)
Sasha Lane, Shia Le Beouf, and Riley Keough star in this film about a troubled teenager who runs away from home and finds herself on an epic road trip across the states, selling magazine subscriptions door to door.
This creates a surprisingly tense atmosphere, ripe for love and danger. The three stars all offer compelling performances.
Basic Instinct (1992)
This is the classic neo-noir erotic thriller and is a must-see for any fans of the genre. Michael Douglas plays a San Francisco detective investigating the brutal murder of a rock star. He soon finds himself entangled with the prime suspect, played by Sharon Stone, who will do whatever it takes to get her way.
This is the film that gave us that police interview scene and solidified Sharon Stone as one of the sexiest women alive.
Berlin Syndrome (2017)
Teresa Palmer stars in this psychological thriller about a young Australian photographer who travels to Germany where she thinks that she meets an exciting new love. But following a night of passion, he takes her hostage.
She passes through waves of sympathy and hatred for her captor. But in the end, what she wants is her freedom.
The Boss’ Daughter (2015)
This French film is a classic tale of forbidden love. The foreman at a textile factory is charged with helping the boss’ daughter on a special project. Spending time together, the two fall in love, to much disapproval from friends and family on both sides.
The two must decide how much they are willing to sacrifice to be together, and whether the passion they share also represents a deeper love.
Cam (2018)
This horror movie provides plenty of space for sexual fantasy as it focuses on a camgirl sex worker who makes money by broadcasting sexy shows. Obsessed with maintaining her ratings, she is distressed when she finds that someone has stolen her channel and her identity.
As she investigates what has happened to her own account, she discovers a much broader and more bizarre conspiracy.
Dry Martina (2018)
This Argentinian movie tells the story of a former child star who has lost her lust for life. Her fame has waned, and she no longer feels the rush of passion that she did when she was younger.
An unexpected event pushes out of her fug and she decides that she needs to find a way to reignite her fire. This leads her on an adventurous trip through Chile.
Lust Stories (2018)
This Hindi-language movie is an anthology of stories all about finding love sexual liberation. Many fantasies are explored including a relationship between a professor and a student and between entrepreneur and maid.
The conservative tendencies of traditional Indian society add an element of risk to all the stories which just make them more intriguing.
Newness (2017)
Nicholas Hoult and Laia Costa star in this film about a young couple that find each other through a hookup app. After a night of passion, they discover that they have amazing sexual chemistry, but they don’t want to start a serious relationship.
They try to maintain their sexual connection while getting on with their individual lives, including dating other people.
The One I Love (2014)
Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass star in this offbeat thriller about a couple whose marriage is in breakdown. Their therapist recommends that they go to a secluded guest house together to try and rebuild their relationship.
While this seems to work at first, they soon begin to suspect that the person with whom they are trapped in this house is not the person that they arrived with.
