Narrated by Sylvester Stallone, ’40 Years of Rocky’ will hit Prime Video on June 9th

A new documentary about ‘Rocky’ is about to premiere on the Amazon streaming platform. The documentary will be narrated by Sylvester Stallone himself. ’40 Years of Rocky: The Birth of a Classic’ will show us the role Stallone played in the film that made him a Hollywood star and a pop culture icon.

The documentary is produced and written by Derek Wayne Johnson. In this new material, we will have access to the behind-the-scenes full of emotional and intimate moments when making the first ‘Rocky’ film that was released in 1976.

Stallone, who is now 73 years old, was an almost unknown actor when filming the first ‘Rocky’ movie. The movie was directed by John G. Avildsen on a tiny budget, but it quickly became a box office success. After its initial success, the film had seven sequels, the most recent being Creed II.

“You’re a lucky person when you realize that the best friend you’ve ever had in your life is a character that appeared in your mind, someone who’s always been there when things get tough and never leaves you,” Stallone says in the documentary’s promotional videos.

The documentary has been classified as a “golden nugget” for fans of ‘Rocky.’ 40 Years of Rocky: The Birth of a Classic’ promises to give the audience a unique experience that will spark nostalgia and excitement.

“We’re proud of the work we did on this documentary,” said Avildsen. He also said that fans can expect a lot of material that has never been released before about the filming of the first Rocky film.
