‘After Life’ Season 3: Production to be underway, Ricky Gervais teases us with draft

As of the 24th of April, 2020, After Life‘s second season is up and running––and if you’re looking for season three, look no further. Just two weeks after the premiere of the second season, Netflix has already renewed the show––confirming its return on the platform. However, things are looking as if this instalment will be the series’ last. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming season!

After Life is a Netflix Original comedy series starring Ricky Gervais who plays Tony. In the story, Tony experienced losing his wife and is trying to pick things back up to par––finding a new purpose in his life.

The first season aired on the streaming giant in March 2019 while the second season arrived globally on the 24th of April, 2020. Fortunately for the fans, we didn’t have to wait that long for a third season. Thanks to Netflix UK & Ireland’s tweet, the anxiety of the next installment was just thrown out the window. A quick, simple tweet for a beautifully curated series.


After the announcement of the third season, Gervais went to work. As of the 23rd of July, we saw Gervais took it to Twitter to share with us the first draft for the first episode of the third season.

Despite all the good news surrounding the series, there’s still a bump in the road as the pandemic hasn’t really settled for the most part. However, After Life films in the United Kingdom which will be allowing all productions to work in July 2020, according to The Guardian.

Hopefully, the series won’t run into disruptions caused by the pandemic. With this, release dates remain to be a blur. The earliest and most optimistic release date is at some point next year.

Not really much to go with from here, but we’re just happy Gervais and the team are putting in the work to entertain us once more.
