Prime Video premieres today an eight-episode docu-series called Regular Heroes about the people in the frontlines against COVID-19. Amazon made the announcement earlier this week, and Regular Heroes premieres today in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
According to the Amazon Prime Video press release, the documentary series will also premiere in the rest of the world on May 12.
Regular Heroes will not only be about putting people who are risking their lives for others during the global pandemic under the spotlight. The series will also raise money and make donations of goods and services to people who need them to continue their heroic work.
It was revealed that the first episode would feature 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys, who will tell the first stories we see in the docu-series. We still don’t know if Alicia will continue in the next seven episodes or if we will have other familiar faces. The upcoming episodes would have a preview in case other stars are going to be the narrators.
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios, said that this show was inspired by the people that are putting their life at risk to help others during the outbreak. “They are true role models and we can’t wait to share their stories with Prime Video customers everywhere.”
We certainly hope that the docu-series will be a success that will move and inspire us.
Regular Heroes is a collaboration between Amazon Studios, Philymack, TyTy & Jay Brown Productions and Big Fish Entertainment.
