Holy smokes! Netflix has really been on the rise with these acquisitions––and might I even dare to say that it’s been an amazing set of moves! This follows a wide array of Indian works in the platform with the likes of Kabir Singh, Panipat, and Saaho––all of which makes Bollywood proud.
On Tuesday, the streaming giant released a sneak-peek into Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming drama Choked. The film boasts of Indian actors Saiyami Kher and Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew in their corresponding lead roles.
The streaming platform took it to their Twitter to post the sneak-peek of the film with the caption: “What money gives, it can also take.” Poetic, and I love it.

However, Anurag Kashyap isn’t new to the streaming giant. This is actually his fourth collaboration with Netflix. Apart from spearheading a segment in anthology movies Lust Stories and Ghost Stories, his resume also boasts of directing multiple episodes of Sacred Games.
According to The New Indian Express, the film “follows a hapless bank cashier whose life takes a turn when she finds a source of unlimited money choked in her own kitchen. It stars Saiyami Kher and Rohan Mathew in pivotal roles. Kashyap said he has found a “home” in the streamer that helps him push his creative boundaries.”
Talking about the movie, Anurag Kashyap told Mid-Day, “The film is close to my heart. It is about relationships, and the precarious balance between truth, power and money. It is the story of a strong-willed, middle-class housewife who finds cash flowing out of her kitchen sink every night, and how this changes her life.”
Choked will be available on the platform to stream on the 5th of June which is relatively soon. Keep your eye out! This might be one of those Bollywood bangers Netflix has been consistent with all these years!
