A month after Normal People took all the attention of the subscribers on Hulu, we now have a new British series to watch. It’s called In My Skin.
Hulu launched another promising series in partnership with the BBC. ‘In My Skin’ already has a guaranteed audience because of its dark and controversial sense of humor. The series is expected to be as successful as ‘Normal People,’ which, in a short time, became one of the most-watched shows on Hulu.
‘In My Skin’ is a black comedy made in the UK. It is a coming-of-age story (or transitioning as it is called in the UK) that focuses on a 16-year-old girl named Bethan. Throughout the series, we will see all the difficulties Bethan goes through to keep her family life hidden from her classmates. The series promises a journey through the world of high school and the anxieties that characterize this part of adolescence, especially on issues such as sexuality and family expectations.
The series was written by Kayleigh Llewellyn (who was named one of the BAFTA’s Breakthrough Brits in 2019). The director of the show is Lucy Forbes (The end of the F***ing World season 2), and the production company is Expectation, the same company behind David Schwimmer’s ‘Intelligence.’
In My Skin’ will feature performances by:
Poppy Lee Friar
We can already see the 5 episodes of the series on Hulu, and we will surely soon have the news of whether or not they will renew this promising series.
