Yes, the film can be predictable, but it is comforting knowing what to expect and still gives you a good feeling overall when you’re finished with the movie. Love it or hate it, Netflix is filled with fantastic romantic comedies you can watch right now. 

We took a moment to compile a list of some of the best romantic comedies that are on Netflix right now and begging to be watched. Grab a glass of wine and a bowl of popcorn and settle into these awesome rom-coms on Netflix

Just Friends 

Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris, and Amy Smart 

Ryan Reynolds has been in his fair share of rom-coms, and he is a comedic gem that everyone should adore. This romantic comedy follows Reynolds’ character who gets stranded in his hometown with Faris right behind him. While there he has to confront his best friend, who he was also in love with during high school, and we can all guess where it goes from there. The film has plenty of romance, but it is lined with a great comedic cast that will have you laughing the entire time. 

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 

Cast: Lana Condor, Janel Parrish, Noah Centineo, and Anna Cathcart 

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is based on Jenny Han’s young adult novel. The movie follows Lara Jean, who writes five letters to her secret crushes and are sent out without her knowledge. Lara is confronted by an old crush, Peter, and is worried it will get in the way of her current crush Josh. The two decide to fake a relationship so they can get the attention of who they want to be with, but then their feelings for each other get in the way. The film is excellent to watch and even though it is more for the younger audience, it’s good to watch even as an adult. 

Always Be My Maybe 

Cast: Ali Wong, Randall Park, Keanu Reeves, and Daniel Dae Kim 

Always Be My Maybe is a charming and delightful rom-com that was co-written and starred in by Ali Wong and Randall Park. The film shows us a pair of teenage best friends that have drifted apart but are put back together in their adulthood, even if their lives are going different ways. Keanu Reeves has a great cameo that will leave you laughing, and although the rom-com is a little predictable, it is also a breath of fresh air. 

Sleepless In Seattle 

Cast: Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, Bill Pullman, and Gaby Hoffman 

This is a romantic comedy classic that you need to watch if you haven’t already. Tom Hanks plays a widower who lives in Seattle when his son calls a radio station to talk about his dad’s relationship struggles. Meg Ryan plays a reporter who hears the radio show and decides to find the mysterious man. The ending will leave you feeling good, but the comedy is also really great throughout the film. 

Mr. Deeds 

Cast: Adam Sandler, Winona Ryder, Peter Gallagher, and Jared Harris 

Mr Deeds may not seem like a romantic comedy, but it sure is. The movie follows Adam Sandler’s character, who goes from running a pizza shop to finding out here is the heir to a multi-billion fortune. Winona Ryder’s character is a reporter who is tasked with getting close to Sandler and getting a good story out of him. Still, their relationship quickly turns more romantic than professional. Sandler is hilarious in all his movies but also does a great job in the romance department, and this movie will leave you feeling nothing but warm and fuzzy inside. 

The Lovebirds

Cast: Issa Rae, Kumail Nanjiani, Anna Camp, and Paul Sparks 

This story follows a couple, Leilani and Jibran, who is on the verge of a breakup. During one of their outings, the pair are tangled up in a bizarre murder and spend a night attempting to clear their names and find the real killer. The story is hilarious but also a great turn on the romantic side. 

About Time 

Cast: Racheal McAdams, Bill Nighty, Lydia Wilson, and Tom Hollander 

About Time is about a man, Tim, that learns that the men in his family can travel through Time which sounds excellent. That is until Tim falls for a woman named Mary, and he begins to see the complications that come with his time-travelling abilities. The movie will leave you feeling good and maybe get you a little emotional too. 

Someone Great 

Cast: Gina Rodriguez, Brittany Snow, and DeWanda Wise 

Gina Rodriguez is terrific in this rom-com that follows her character, Jenny, that recently was dumped by her long term boyfriend. Jenny landed a music writing job for the Rolling Stones in San Francisco and before she leaves New York she embarks on one last adventure with her two best friends. This rom-com goes a different direction than other romantic comedies, but it is a great movie to watch and even inspired Taylor Swift to write a song after it.
