As you already know Better Call Saul is a prequel spin-off of Breaking Bad. The show follows the trials and tribulations of criminal lawyer, Jimmy McGill, as he is establishing his strip-mall law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
What We Know So Far About Better Call Saul Season 5:
We know that season 5 of Better Call Saul will not premier in 2019. In an interview with Vulture, AMC’s President of Entertainment Networks, Sarah Barnett, said:
“We said on our most recent earnings call that the series would come back for season five next year. It’s driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show.”
This means that the show has been pushed into 2020 while they look for their talent needs.
In Season 4 we see how Chuck’s death has catalyzed Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman as he takes steps into the criminal world. This puts a strain on not only his career as a lawyer but also his relationship with Kim.
It is said that production was underway for Better Call Saul, slating the show to premiere in August but now with the talent need we know it won’t come out this year. We don’t know what will happen in season 5, but we did see the sad and beautiful ending of the final death knell for Jimmy McGill. Season 5 will show us, Saul Goodman, as we know him from the Breaking Bad era.
Jimmy and Kim’s relationship might come to an end in season 5, but we don’t know that for sure. We also know that Mike is in a morally questionable position since he did murder someone for Gus and the repercussions of that will play out.
Better Call Saul is currently streaming on Netflix so that you can get all caught up before season 5 releases.
