Marvel’s Black Widow has its first trailer and it’s action packed

The first trailer for Marvel’s Black Widow has dropped, and boy is it filled with action. The film surrounds the mysterious heroine from Marvel’s universe, and they had been teasing this movie ever since Comic Con last year.

We learned that the movie would premier in May of 2020, and we learned that Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson, thinks the Avengers are her family throughout the entire franchise. The trailer shows quick flashbacks of Natasha’s past as an Avenger. Soon the trailer shows a gathering of family from her past that viewers have never seen.

The new family that we are being introduced to includes Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, Melina Vostokoff, played by Rachel Weisz, and Red Guardian, played by David Harbour. The cast has comic jabs throughout their introduction but also shows so tension between Natasha and her sister Yelena.

No one knows for sure when the movie takes place, but it is rumored that it takes place in the Avengers timeline shortly after “Captain America: Civil War.”

Although the trailer showed a lot of action with choreographed combat scenes amid all the battle, the movie will dig through the characters of the three women.

Johansson told CNN:

“I think you’ll learn about what Natasha is afraid of, and I think you’ll learn about what parts of herself she’s afraid of. You really see her in, like, a pretty broken-down place, and she kinda has to build herself back up.”

Weisz added:

“There’s three really beautifully written, complicated female narratives, which is very unusual in a superhero movie.”

As for right now, we only have one trailer to last us until May, but knowing how Marvel works, there are at least two more we will see before the movie actually premiers.
