Netflix released the trailer of its first music competition show that will feature hip-hop legends T.I., Chance the Rapper, and Cardi B. We’re talking about ‘Rhythm + Flow.’ The trailer does not say much about the competition itself but Netflix is experimenting with the format, expecting the bet pays off.
Netflix has been involved mostly with original series and movie but has recently expanded its bet due to the competition it’s facing from Disney with its Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu combo. But this will be their first bet on reality talent shows.
The show will have ten hour-long episodes that will air over three weeks. It will air the auditions, music videos, rap battles, samples, collaborations and, of course, the grand finale.
‘Rhythm + Flow’ is not using the same standards as other music competition shows. It’s not only Netflix’s first competition show but also the first music competition show dedicated exclusively to hip-hop. And it brings as scouts and jurors rap legends like T.I., Chance the Rapper, and Cardi B who’ll be in charge of discovering rap’s next big thing.
Cardi B revealed the trailer at Made in America Festival 2019 in Philly. It showed the three judges during the auditions in cities like LA, NYC, and Atlanta.
The music world has gone insanely wild with the show. There have been rappers in many of the classic music competition shows such as X-Factor, and America’s Got Talent, but never one exclusively dedicated to rapping. It seems bound to be a total success.
‘Rhythm + Flow’ will start airing on October 9. Enjoy the trailer below:
