Criminal: New Police Interrogation Show Coming to Netflix

Another police interrogation drama show will be added to Netflix and it’s called Criminal! The series stars Nicholas Pinnock of For Life, David Tennant of Doctor Who, and Hayley Atwell of Agent Carter. The series will launch on the 20th of September so better make some space for this if you’re a fan of interrogations as I am!

The series boasts of a good ol’ 12 episodes with 45 minutes in them. Three episodes, though, were set across four countries including the UK, France, Germany and Spain which will all be explained later. The drama show exclusively takes place within the borders of a police interview suit. Cleaned, stripped down and like a cat-mouse rivalry, the show will mainly focus on the intense back-and-forth conflict between the police and the suspect.

For the episodes in the UK: Nicholas Pinnock, Katherine Kelly of Cheat, Lee Inglyby, Rochenda Sandall, Mark Stanley and Shubham Saraf will star alongside Tennant and Atwell with guests Youssef Kerkour and Clare-Hope Ashitey.

For the episodes in France: Margot Bancilhon, Laurent Lucas, Stéphane Jobert, Anne Azoulay and Mhamed Arezki alongside guest stars Nathalie Baye, Jérémie Renier and Sara Giraudeau.

For the episodes in Germany: Eva Meckbach, Sylvester Groth, Florence Kasumba, Christian Kuchenbuch and Jonathan Berlin star alongside Peter Kurth, Christian Berkel, Deniz Arora and Nina Hoss.

For the episodes in Spain: Jorge Bosch, José Ángel Egido, Nuria Mencía, Daniel Chamorro, María Morales, Javi Coll and Milo Taboada star alongside Carmen Machi, Inma Cuesta, Eduard Fernández, Emma Suárez and Álvaro Cervantes.

That’s probably one of the best interrogation drama line-ups I’ve seen so far. It’s star-studded and jam-packed.

Episodes will be produced in each country’s local language to be written and directed by their talented local crew. Alongside creators Kay and Field Smith who are set to run the show and write the UK episodes, Idiotlamp Production will be producing the drama.

In France, Spiral and Frederic Mermound of The Returned, Antonin Martin-Hilbert of Nina and Mathieu Missoffe of Profilage are set to write there.

In Germany, Oliver Hirschbiegel of Downfall and Four Blocks, Bernd Lange of Das Verschwinden and  Sebastian Heeg of Blaumacher will be writing.

In Spain, Mariano Barroso of El Día De Mañana, Alejandro Hernández of El Autor and Manuel Martín Cuenca of Caníbal are set.

Exciting year for police interrogations, and this might just be the pinnacle of all!

Mac is your typical streaming fan. He binges an excessive amount of Netflix shows and is a big fan of the police procedural genre, hence the love for Lucifer and NCIS. Aside from laying in bed and watching series after series, he also loves to write. Anything that he's allowed to write about, he will. It's like it's as if bingeing and writing had a baby, Mac would be the child.
