The second season of ‘Doom Patrol’ finally releases a new trailer, after many months of waiting in which they have released very little -or not at all- promotional material.
The trailer, which is two minutes long, starts almost connecting to the end of the first season to quickly put us on stage about the second season’s plot.
The Chief himself tells the members of the Condemned Patrol, and consequently us, the importance of his daughter Dorothy, and that they must find her, while at the same time we are told about numerous moments that border on the surreal, very much in line with the series.
As a curiosity, the series is placed as a product of HBO Max, and practically no mention is made of DC Universe, from which the series originated. A situation very similar to ‘Stargirl,’ which originated from DC Universe, has arisen, but its entire promotional campaign has come from The CW chain.
Check out the official synopsis of the series:
“DC’s strangest group of heroes – Cliff Steele aka Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Larry Trainor aka Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Rita Farr aka Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Jane aka Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Victor Stone aka Cyborg (Joivan Wade) – are back to save the world.
That is if they can find a way to grow… both figuratively and literally. After Mr. Nobody’s defeat, the Doom Patrol are now miniature and stranded on Cliff’s toy car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by Niles Caulder, aka The Boss (Timothy Dalton), while facing their own personal baggage. And as each member is challenged to grow beyond their past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family: Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro), Niles’ daughter, whose powers remain a mysterious but real threat to the end of the world.”
The series will premiere in two weeks, on June 25, and will do so with three new episodes. A top-notch debut on HBO Max.
