May it be Greek mythology, crime, the bible or anything else in between, the books-turned-movies pattern has been big for Netflix, and this is evidence of that. After a strong second movie in After We Collided, fans of the After series are already looking forward to the third film in the series, After We Fell. Tess and Hardin’s relationship has been quite the rollercoaster ride, and that’s an understatement. With everything that went on during the After sequel, there’s hope in knowing that the couple is just getting started.
Fortunately, the series still has two more source materials to base the movies on––so things aren’t necessarily over yet. All that aside, what’s next for Tess and Hardin in After We Fell?
Is the third movie really happening?
You’d be surprised on how much progress the production has materialised. Not only has shooting begun for the third season, the team has also begun shooting for the fourth film in After Ever Happy as well! Both the stars of the movie series, Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, have already shared the news on Instagram.
What will After We Fell be about?
Much like that of the first two films, After We Fell will be loyal to its source material––Anna Todd’s series’ third book of the same name. Here’s the official synopsis that will undoubtedly make you even more eager for the upcoming film!
“Just as Tessa makes the biggest decision of her life, everything changes. Revelations about first her family, and then Hardin’s, throw everything they knew before in doubt and makes their hard-won future together more difficult to claim.“
“Tessa’s life begins to come unglued. Nothing is what she thought it was. Not her friends. Not her family. The one person she should be able to rely on, Hardin, is furious when he discovers the massive secret she’s been keeping. And rather than being understanding, he turns to sabotage.”
“Tessa knows Hardin loves her and will do anything to protect her, but there’s a difference between loving someone and being able to have them in your life. This cycle of jealousy, unpredictable anger, and forgiveness is exhausting. She’s never felt so intensely for anyone, so exhilarated by someone’s kiss—but is the irrepressible heat between her and Hardin worth all the drama? Love used to be enough to hold them together. But if Tessa follows her heart now, will it be…the end?”
To cut a long story short, the cast will be having a major makeover. Since the first two films were shot in the United States, it was easier for most of the cast to relieve scheduling conflicts. However, After We Fell will be shot in Bulgaria to avoid the COVID-19 pandemic, since numbers are low in the country.
Don’t fret, though, the characters you love are in good hands. Members of the renewed cast are Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Chance Perdomo as Landon, True Blood’s Steve Moyer as Christian Vance, and John Tucker Must Die’s Arielle Kebbel as Kimberly (unfortunately taking the place of The Vampire Diaries’ Candace King).
With a renewed cast comes brand new ones, though, so that’s good news! Hollywood’s Mira Sorvino and Carter Jenkins have joined the cast as Carol and Robert, respectively. Frances Turner, on the other hand, joins as Karen, a character that’s been owned by a couple of actresses now.
Since production is still in their early stages, the release date seems to be a little blurry as of now. Because of the pandemic, the After We Collided was delayed for over a year. As of now, After We Fell is being filmed alongside very limited people for precautions, of course.
After We Fell is the third movie of what looks to be Anna Todd’s five-book series. With millions of fans waiting for this one, it looks like fans will have to wait for a couple of months for an announcement regarding the release date. On the 23rd of October, After We Collided released on Netflix after over a year of waiting.
After We Fell will also be starring new faces for both original and new characters with the likes of Chance Perdomo and Steve Moyer among others.
