George Lopez has announced on Tuesday that he will be debuting his very first comedy special for Netflix in the following month!
The legendary 59-year-old comedian slash actor, who’s very well known for his own sitcom on ABC, took it to Twitter to post about the good news.

Titled We’ll Do It for Half, the comedy will be coming to the streaming giant on the 30th of June 2020 as Lopez tweeted.
If you’re wondering where the title came from, well, it’s a President Donald Trump joke. ‘We’ll do it for half,’ in response to an Instagram post about rumors of Iran putting $80 million on the President’s head after the U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
The one-hour comedy special is described as “a hilarious exploration of race, politics, and life lessons to be learned from the Latino community; especially the elders.”
According to a statement, it will be covering many different aspects of humanity including: “cultural differences, emotional support animals, gender reveal parties, elevator etiquette, and much more.”
In the video, Lopez speaks in both English and Spanish just to make it clearer for both audiences. He said that he will be attempting to deliver a sense of cross-cultural understanding––tackling topics such as childcare and the unfortunate events that are currently happening to us today.
“I hope that at the end of the hour we’re smarter, we’re lighter, we’re brighter and I wish to be the glue that can finally bridge the gaps between our cultures,” Lopez said in the video.
