‘Greenleaf’ Season 5: Everything you need to know about the former Oprah Winfrey series

Recently, Greenleaf has wrapped up a fruitful five seasons with the Oprah Winfrey Network and will be moving alongside Netflix to continue on the journey. Season 5 will be dropping on August 2020 and Netflix USA will be premiering the series in the next month, September. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming series!

After what has to be one of the best runs of a series for the Oprah Winfrey Network, the series has statistically been the biggest and most successful show the network has produced. With stars the likes of Merle Dandridge, Keith David, Lynn Whitfield, and Kim Hawthorne, there really is a lot to expect from the series considering the cast––and looks like they’ve delivered.

The series follows a family with dark and mysterious secrets who do their best for their megachurch to continue running.

Created by Craig Wright, the series began in June 2016 on the Oprah Winfrey Network and coincidentally (or not), their fifth and final season also released in June, this time, 2020.

Alongside Greenleaf season 5, there will also be a one-hour special aired this year called “Goin’ Up Yonder” but is yet to be confirmed by the platform.

As for the releases, the United States gets it a little bit later as it will be the final region that will be seeing Greenleaf. For example, when the fourth season of the series released internationally in November of 2019, the United States got a month later, December 2019.

Nothing to complain about here, but we’re just giving you a heads-up to not, at any point, search for keywords you think might spoil your experience as a watcher of the series. We’re just looking out for you, fam.

Greenleaf was right on time with this one, as everyone did expect that it’d come along the months of August or September 2020. And now, we’d just have to wait for September 10, 2020, to come along so we can see season 5!
