HBO Documentary Films revealed the first full-length trailer for the ‘Showbiz Kids’ project, which will offer a glimpse into what it’s like to work as a child actor in the entertainment industry. Along with the preview, the company announced the release date of the documentary.
The documentary film will tell us more about the personal and professional price of fame and failure when you are a child actor in Hollywood. We will hear from those who know the industry, as well as from several successful child actors and two aspiring actors.
Through their own experiences, we will learn more about the difficulties and sacrifices that young stars have to deal with to become successful characters in show business.
‘Showbiz Kids’ was written and directed by a former child actor named Alex Winter (‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’).
Among the stories available in the documentary are those of Henry Thomas -who starred in ‘ET The Extra-Terrestrial’ at age 11-, Mara Wilson -who first appeared at age 6 in ‘Mrs. Winter’s Excellent Adventure’-, and the actor who is now a member of the film team, Mrs. Doubtfire’s, Todd Bridges -who appeared on TV from the age of 13-, Milla Jovovich -who before becoming a science fiction star in ‘The Fifth Element’ or ‘Resident Evil,’ made her screen debut at 13-, Evan Rachel Wood, who starred in ‘Thirteen’ at 15, the story of the late Cameron Boyce, star of ‘Jessie’ on the Disney Channel since age 12, Jada Pinkett Smith, Wil Wheaton and Diana Serra Cary (Baby Peggy), the renowned silent film star who starred when only 2 years old in 1920.
The documentary ‘Showbiz Kids’ will be released on July 14, by HBO Max.
