Director Zack Snyder (Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice) was working on the ‘Justice League’ project, where several of DC’s most famous superheroes were meeting when his daughter’s passing prevented him from continuing with the work, being replaced by Joss Whedon. Still, the final result was not convincing, and the film was a box-office flop.
Since then, fans have asked for Snyder’s version to be released, which will be made possible by HBO Max, who will release the film on their platform in 2021.
The company released the first trailer of “Snyder Cut,” where Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, is shown meeting a pictorial representation of the villain Darkseid. At the same time, the voice of Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) connects the events of Batman vs. Superman and the ‘Justice League’.
Darkseid was initially to be the main villain of the film, released in 2017. Still, his participation was eliminated entirely, and Steppenwolf was chosen as the antagonist of the film directed by Whedon.
So far, we’ve seen the new ‘Justice League’ version has Snyder’s stamp very noticeably on it, but we still have no idea what final form this adaptation will take. It’s been said that it may take a total of almost four hours divided into six chapters, but for now, everything is behind a fog of secrecy that only gives rise to fan rumors.
Anyway, we will have to wait until next year to see the finished product, although we will probably have an official trailer by the end of 2020.
