‘Hilda’ Season 2: Renewal status, release date, and everything we know so far

One of the things Netflix has been doing right is it targets basically everyone. From adults with their deep dramas to teenagers and their love for comedy and romance––the streaming giant, thus, never forgets their kid-friendly series and films. This time, the platform has renewed Hilda, the animated series based on the comics and novels of the same name. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season!

With the help of Luke Pearson’s graphic novel series, Netflix has commissioned one of the best kids series on its platform. With its first season launching in September of 2018, the series was renewed not too long after.

The first season boasted of the stories of the original novel series, and that includes:

  • Hilda and the Troll
  • Hilda and the Midnight Giant
  • Hilda and the Bird Parade
  • Hilda and the Black Hound

Expect the second season to cover the latest books of the series, with it most likely being:

  • Hilda and the Stone Forest
  • Hilda and the Mountain King

And maybe Pearson will be throwing some curveball stories––those of which are unreleased.

Look out for Fall 2020 as multiple sources including Kasey Moore of What’s On Netflix has confirmed that that’s when the installment will be premiering.

If you’re still unsatisfied, Luke Pearson and Pictoplasma had an interview with which he tackled the entertainment culture of adapting novels into series.

“On the one hand it was very exciting, but I was also prepared that it might go in a direction that wasn’t what I wanted. Happily, it turned out pretty much exactly as I would have wished. Naturally, it’s a collaborative process and lots of other people are involved in making decisions. I’ve accepted that it’s a group project now. My books are my books and the series is the series.”

Well, it also turned out the way the audiences have wished. Let us know down below what you think of the upcoming season of Hilda!
