‘Hoops’ adds new members to the team: Expected release date and plot

After all the dramas, comedies, and reality-TV series from the streaming giant, it’s good to have sports series around the block from Netflix’s wide array of selections. With the likes of The Last DanceLast Chance U, and Sunderland ‘Til I Die––Hoops has been rising in the ranks even before its release.

Coming from the people of 20th Century Fox Television, the animated series is specially catered for the streaming giant––and they’ve been teasing us with news of the cast updates. As reported, Jake Johnson will be voicing the star of the series. However, July has been a big month for the series as more cast members are added. With that, let’s get on with what you have to know about Hoops‘ first season!

The animated series revolves around the story of a high school basketball coach hoping to have a shot at the big leagues––and this will only be achievable with the team he has to work with.

As stated earlier, the first cast member to be announced was Jake Johnson. We all know Johnson from New Girl as he played the great Nick Miller in the comedy. In the series, he’ll be voicing the foul-mouthed coach Ben Hopkins.

And only recently, the family got even bigger. To go alongside with Johnson are Natasha Leggero, Rob Riggle, Ron Funches, Cleo King, and A.D. Miles.

The sad news is that no concrete release date has gone around alongside the announcement of the new cast members. However, since there have been updates for the series, we may be expecting a release date sooner or later.

If anything, we’re looking at a release on the latter of 2020 or early 2021. Either way, make sure you practice your free throws and lay-ups before coach scolds you for missing such a wide-open one. Get it together, man.
