‘Into the Dark’ is one of Hulu’s hidden gems. The anthology horror show has been called Hulu’s Black Mirror for its one-episode, one-story format. But it is a way different show and it has a growing audience with each episode. Also, it has a particular format even for a streaming show: one episode per month non-stop.
After giving us a good deal of first images, the streaming service owned by Disney released the first trailer of its November installment, called ‘Pilgrim,’ which is the second episode of ‘Into the Dark’s Season 2 after ‘Uncanny Annie,’ the Halloween-based episode released on October 4. As you may deduce from the name, it will be based on a Thanksgiving story, as Hulu shows in the official synopsis:
“Inspired by true events, in an attempt to remind her family of their privilege and help them bond, Ms. Anna Barker invites Pilgrim re-enactors to stay with them over Thanksgiving. When the ‘actors’ refuse to break character, the Barker family learns that there is such a thing as too much gratitude.”
The episode will be directed by Marcus Dunstan, who directed the ‘The Collector’ trilogy, co-wrote ‘Feast’ and some of the ‘Saw’ saga sequels. This means we can expect a good deal of blood with ‘Pilgrim’. Patrick Melton and Noah Feinberg are the co-writers of the episode, and Antonio Raul Corbo, Peter Giles, and Elyse Levesque lead ‘Pilgrim’s cast.
‘Into the Dark’s ‘Pilgrim’ will air on Hulu on Friday, November 1. Watch the trailer below:
