When it’s The Witcher, there’s no escaping the fact that rumors and theories will be shared throughout the world of the internet––most especially Reddit.
Only recently, a rumor circulated last week that Mark Hamill––the famous Luke Skywalker of the Star Wars franchise––would be casting as Vesemir for season two of Netflix’s widely renowned (this is to put it lightly, also) Witcher series. Well, guess what, people! The streaming giant has finally confirmed who really is taking on the role of Vesemir!
Drum roll, please! It’s veteran Danish actor Kim Bodnia! The same Kim Bodnia who played as Konstantin Vasiliev in the spy thriller television series Killing Eve. Yes, the same Bodnia who got a BAFTA nomination for the best supporting actor last year. Man, if this guy doesn’t deserve Vesemir then I don’t know who does. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the showrunner of the series, had a little something to say to the Danish actor who’s about to play the “oldest and most experienced” Witcher:
“I am so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of The Witcher. I have admired his unique talents in shows like Killing Eve and The Bridge, and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity, and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.”
The list is finally out, people––and theories of Luke Skywalker playing Vesemir have been debunked! Here’s are some of the other new faces of The Witcher‘s
The Continent just got a little bigger. Here's the new cast of #TheWitcher Season 2:
Yasen Atour as Coen
Agnes Bjorn as Vereena
Paul Bullion as Lambert
Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen
Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel
Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia
Mecia Simson as Francesca— NX (@NXOnNetflix) February 21, 2020
So what do you think? Does Bodnia deserve the role of Vesemir? Does his acting style perfectly mesh together with the role? Well, who knows until we see it, right?
All of us are excited! With that experienced a cast, I don’t know how the second season of The Witcher is going to fail. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
