‘La Révolution’: Release date, plot, and more about the French Netflix Original

I told you, man. The international scene has completely taken over Netflix––and honestly, who are we to complain? Every international release has been on-par with those of Hollywood’s, if not better. This time, we’re going to the Land of the Franks––France.

La Révolution is the streaming giant’s new French Netflix Original drama series and here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming show!

It was but only a couple of years ago when Netflix decided to create an office in France. Alongside that project is an abundance of French titles, one of which is La Révolution. Ever since then, the show was already being developed for its release date of October 2020.

The teaser trailer from Netflix doesn’t really show us as much as we’d like to––but let’s all delve in the fact that the trailer was creative and pleasing to the eyes. Given that the teaser was released on a day France celebrates, the 14th of July, which is Bastille Day.

Despite the lack of information from the teaser, the short synopsis might give you a little hint on what the series is trying to spearhead. Here it is:

“In a reimagined history of the French Revolution, the guillotine’s future inventor uncovers a disease that drives the aristocracy to murder commoners.”

An official release date hasn’t been released yet, but as per Netflix France’s official Twitter account, the series is coming in October 2020. Aujourd’hui en France also played a big part in knowing the release date as it was advertised on the French paper.

Don’t worry, we’ll all be seeing the series as it will be released on the streaming giant globally seeing that it is a full Netflix Original.

French, as a language, has always been sexy and dramatic––but this just gives me chills down the spine. Here’s Netflix France’s tweet:

“The Revolution is scheduled for October,” the tweet states.
