‘Lobby Baby’ – A new stand-up special by Seth Meyers to premiere on Netflix

Former SNL Star and ‘Late Night’ star, Seth Meyers will join Netflix’s robust stand up comedy roster with a new special called ‘Lobby Baby.’ Netflix already has specials from standup stars such as Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari Bill Burr, and even Richard Pryor.

The streaming service announced that ‘Lobby Baby’ will be released in a couple of weeks on Tuesday, November 5 and will discuss “family, fatherhood, and why you should never take your girlfriend to Paris for her birthday,” plus Meyers’s wisdom that “you can love a lobby baby as much as a hospital baby … in time.” For those who aren’t aware, Meyers’ second son was born in the lobby of his building, hence the name. The special was filmed in Minneapolis at the Pantages Theatre.

To promote the special Netflix release a trailer clip that is quite different from most of stand up trailers. Many people complained because most trailers showed random parts from the show, Meyers special’s trailer shows Meyer in an awful commercial selling an action figure called ‘Standup Seth’ to a group of kids that are not interested, to say the least.

Better known for his late-night, desk-sitting humor at both Saturday Night Live and Late Night; Meyers is no stranger to standup comedy as he’s been coming and going from it as a part of his career as a comedian, which actually netted him the role at SNL that launched him to stardom. This will be his first stand up special to be launched by a network or streaming service.
