‘Lovecraft Country’: HBO Max series has a confirmed release date

Created and directed by Misha Green (‘Underground’), ‘Lovecraft Country’ adapts Matt Ruff’s novel of the same name. It is one of the most expected HBO Max’s series.

And we already have a release date. The first episode of the supernatural horror series produced by Jordan Peele (Us) and J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) will hit screens at nine o’clock this evening, August 16th, on HBO Max. After that, we can expect a new chapter every Sunday until it ends.

Directed by Misha Green (Heroes, Sons of Anarchy), ‘Lovecraft Country’ tells the story of Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors), a young man who embarks on a journey into the unknown, along with his uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) and his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), to find his father who has mysteriously disappeared.

A crossover of the dark world of the writer H.P. Lovecraft and the segregated reality of the southern United States of the ’50s, ‘Lovecraft Country’ is one of HBO’s best for this summer of 2020 and, without a doubt, points to one of the most convincing mini-series of the year.

Apart from Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett-Bell, in ‘Lovecraft Country,’ there are also Michael Kenneth Williams (Red Sea Rescue), Aunjanue Ellis (How they see us), Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic animals and where to find them).
