Lucifer Season 5: Netflix release date and everything we know so far

Lucifer has stood out to be one of the most creative crime-solving series to date. Ever since the fourth season though, the show has progressed minimally––sorting out everything that needs to be sorted outside of the series including Tom Ellis’ contract and renewal. With that out of the way, when will the next set of investigations take place? If everything could’ve gone as planned––we would’ve been enjoying the fourth season last month.

The series ended with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) returning to his position as King of Hell. Reluctant, it’s the only way he knows that could save Hell and bring peace to the underworld.

Because of the current pandemic, productions have closed and Lucifer‘s was no exception. Reportedly, the series only needed a couple of days to wrap up the season. Unfortunate, but we’re still expecting for the fifth season to come in 2020. There hasn’t been a lot of news going around ever since the entertainment industry really shut down in March besides the renewal of Tom’s contract.

Surely though, we’d be seeing the series’ fifth season to be released in two separate parts. One part of which is a successful compilation of the shooting. However, we still cannot be sure. Ildy Modrovich, the series’ producer, stated that she had finished episode 15 and went on to episode 16 when the productions have shut off.

With this, we can conclude that the first half of the show has already been filmed––and maybe even ready to release. However, there’s really no confirmation if each episode was filmed simultaneously. Just in case everything’s all said and done (at least for the first part), then we may be expecting the first part to ring our doorbells around the fall of this year.

Nothing’s been concluded, though. We’re keeping a close eye on the streaming giant and the producers from this point on.
