Subscribers to the Amazon streaming platform will be able to watch ‘My Spy’ without paying anything else.
Sometimes we just want to watch a movie specifically designed to entertain us: no convoluted plots, no unexpected plots, or intricate character development. Sometimes we just want to laugh. And that’s what ‘My Spy’ promises to Amazon Prime Video subscribers this weekend.
Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman are the stars of My Spy. The film was scheduled to open in cinemas in March 2020. Still, the global pandemic of COVID-19 is not very cinema-friendly, so just as it was announced that the film would be delayed, Amazon Prime Video bought the broadcast rights to the film.
I’m not gonna lie to you. There’s nothing spectacular about this movie. The best thing about ‘My Spy’ is that it’s a movie that makes an honest promise to its audience: “I’m going to make you laugh without overthinking.” The film does that perfectly, and you don’t know how much you can appreciate that a movie doesn’t try to be something more than what it is.
The plot is simple, but enough to keep you glued to the screen. Bautista will play a CIA agent who is discovered by a little nine-year-old girl played by Coleman. The spy will have to make a deal with the girl to keep his cover and not risk his mission. In exchange for her silence, the girl asks him to teach her how to be a spy.
Again, this movie is great to enjoy on a Sunday, eating some snacks to end the week with as few complications as possible. Plus, it’s free! So check it out on Amazon Prime Video and chill out a little bit.
