Director LP and Netflix’s ‘Desperados’: Release date, plot, and trailer

July 2020 is a big month for Netflix. Not only is it another pandemic-affected month, but it will also be one of the months that Netflix will possibly sense scarcity in its intake of shows. However, that doesn’t stop the streaming platform by giving us quality content. And so, your list of must-watch during the summer lengthens––and one more show to add to that is a romantic comedy called Desperados. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming show, including its release date.

The upcoming Netflix Original American-comedy film is directed LP and will be alongside screenwriter Ellen Rapoport. The film will be coming soon, though, boasting a release date a little over a week from now––3rd of July, 2020. It has also been confirmed that the film will be having a runtime of 105 minutes. Don’t worry, Desperados will be accessible to all subscribers worldwide. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself, Netflix.

The official Netflix synopsis reads:
After drunkenly sending a cringeworthy email, hopeless romantic Wes heads to Mexico with her best friends to erase the note before her new love reads it.
Director LP even took it to Instagram to tell us that their filming began in April 2019 in the great city of Mexico! Here’s the powerful director’s post!

Honestly, the arrival of Desperados was as late as they could come––considering that Universal Pictures got to acquire the film’s rights back in 2009. Originally, though, Isla Fisher and other crew members were already assigned to work on the project.

After a gruesome ten years for those who waited for any bit of announcements, they finally got it. The cast was announced and so was the director which came to be LP. To go alongside the good news, Universal wasn’t attached to the film at that point as Netflix acquired its rights alongside production house MXN Entertainment and Lost City.

All things considered, we all have high hopes for the film and I just feel like this will exceed some of our expectations. But for now, we’ll just have to wait and see. Either way, it’s coming soon––maybe it’ll even come sooner if you read our everyday updates on the releases of the platform.
