In May 2020, the classic series of Avatar: The Last Airbender was added to the streaming giant that is Netflix. Don’t mind the fact that it’s actually a 15-year-old series, it still holds up as one of the most popular shows in the streamer.
With that being said, this might just be the time to inform (or remind) you that the streaming platform is making a live-action of the series––and it’s coming right at your doorstep soon.
However, there’s really not much to say about its release date so better hold your horses, people.
With the recent COVID-19 pandemic and all the lockdowns, the Netflix original series has yet to start its production process. All we know is that they’re already working on it––it’s just that there have been 0 updates of its filming. The season may not be as close as you think it is, but we’re sure it’s coming––and honestly, this pandemic wasn’t under their control in the first place (unless Aang can also control viruses, which I highly doubt).
Honestly, for a series such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, production won’t be as easy as you’d think. With the number of stunts and CGI, that’ll probably take a lot of time to create and post-produce.
As expected, there are no real dates for the release yet because of all the delay this virus has done not only for the streamer but for the whole entertainment industry. You just have to imagine that the present situation has delayed things one way or another.
If anything, we’re looking at a late 2021 release for Avatar: The Last Airbender––and that’s being a little too optimistic for my taste. If not in 2021, we’ll see it around 2022 and if we’re lucky, we’d be getting an official schedule from Netflix in 2021.
