Netflix explains the story behind the name of ‘Too Hot to Handle’ robot, Lana

As we all know, Too Hot to Handle is a reality show about abstaining of the contestants’ sexual pleasures––the robot from the show isn’t an exception though.

Netflix took it to their official Twitter account and said: “If you found yourself watching Too Hot To Handle and wondering where we got the name Lana from… reverse it.”

As fans were mesmerized by how simple it was for the producers to reverse ‘anal’ to come up with the cone-shaped robot’s name, avid watchers immediately share their sentiments towards it. A good example of this case would be one of my favorite biases in the filming industry: James Gunn.

The replies were a laughing wreck with people only mustering a single word or the occasional surprised emoji. One even said that “Netflix got REAL horny on main all of a sudden,” and we’d totally agree.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before author Jenny Han even joined in on the fun and tagged who was probably the most appropriate to tag for the situation––Lana Condor, the star of the Netflix adaptations of Han’s books.

If you haven’t seen Lana yet or most importantly Too Hot to Handle, then you just have to. The Netflix synopsis reads:

“10 young, hot singles from around the world…in a tropical paradise for what they think will be the most exotic and erotic summer of their lives — but there’s a twist. These commitment-phobes who love a casual hook-up, will have to give up all hanky panky for the entire retreat if they want to win the $100,000 grand prize. No kissing, no heavy petting, and no self-gratification of any kind. With every slip, the prize money goes down. In this luxury no-bone zone, will the serial singletons be able to form deeper emotional connections? Or will the temptation simply be too hot to handle?”
