Hulu announces the release date of ‘PEN15’ with a teaser trailer

The preview of season 2 of PEN15 sets the release date for September. Hulu launches the first teaser for the upcoming second season of her successful PEN15 comedy series, with Anna and Maya as they prepare for the Seventh Grade. The new 14-episode season will be divided into two parts with the first semester coming up on September 18, while the final seven episodes will be released sometime next year.

Hulu has described the show as “high school as it really was.” Erskine and Konkle play versions of themselves as 13-year-old outcasts in 2000, surrounded by real 13-year-olds.

Anna Konkle, Maya Erskine, and Sam Zvibleman created the series. Konkle and Erskine also starred the show by playing younger versions of themselves, two 13-year-olds on the fringe, as they search for the daily terror of high school in 2000.

The streaming platform war continues, and Hulu doesn’t want to be left behind, so she keeps betting on filling its series catalog with original content. After the second season of ‘Ramy’ and the announcement of ‘Nine Perfect Strangers,’ we now have the second season of ‘PEN15’, a series that has already been nominated for an Emmy Award.

The series is produced by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. The trio is best known as the comedy group The Lonely Island, which produced ‘Pop Star: Never Stops, Never Stops.’ Debbie Liebling, Gabe Liedman, Becky Sloviter, Brooke Pobjoy, and Marc Provissiero are also executive producers.
