Netflix’s ‘Dogs’ has been one of the streamer’s most pleasant surprises. The heart-warming six-part docuseries followed dog owners all over the world and how they bonded with their four-legged pals.
And… Disney didn’t lose any time. The company revealed the trailer of a similar docuseries called ‘Pick of the Litter’ that’ll follow the story of the selection of pups to be trained as guide dogs. It’s as cute as it sounds.
The show will stream on Disney+ from December 20 and will follow the story of six to-be-guide dogs: Paco, Pacino, Raffi, Amara, Tulane, and Tartan as they are trained, loved and taken care of as they prepare to change the lives of blind persons as their companions.
The official synopsis says that “Pick of the Litter follows a litter of puppies from the moment they’re born and begin their quest to become Guide Dogs for the Blind, the ultimate canine career. Cameras follow these pups through a two-year odyssey as they train to become dogs whose ultimate responsibility is to protect their blind partners from harm. Along the way, the dogs meet a community of dedicated individuals who train them to do amazing, life-changing things in the service of their human. Only the best of the best. The pick of the litter.”
It’s based on a documentary that followed the same story and streamed on Netflix for a while and Disney+ extended it into a series. The original documentary has a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes so it’s quite a safe bet for Disney.
