‘Ratched’ Season 1: When will this Ryan Murphy project come out?

September is a big month for Netflix. During that month, the streaming platform will be resurrecting one of entertainment’s classic characters. To add to that, Ryan Murphy will also be reuniting with Sarah Paulson outside of what was a successful American Horror Story.

And here it is, here’s basically everything you need to know about the first season of Ratched. With news and various sources, including IMDb, confirming its September of 2020 release, the series will be coming to the streaming giant alongside Ryan Murphy who will be putting to good use his deal with Netflix. Knowing the success of Ryan Murphy for the streamer, we’re pretty sure Ratched will soon be included in that coveted list.

Luckily, Netflix won the bidding war against Hulu––and Apple even got in on the fun as it was reported that they also wanted the show.

As for the story, the series will be focusing on the classic character that is Nurse Ratchet from the 1962 classic novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest followed by a movie thirteen years later.

However, I think everyone who knew about its forthcoming to the platform expected an earlier release––around late 2019 to early 2020 range. The thing is, the series’ IMDb page says that the first season is due to release in September of 2020––alongside more info on the cast and every episode for the first season.

In a recent interview with Ryan Murphy, though, this was later confirmed that Ratched will be coming to your doorsteps in September 2020. In April 2020, Murphy was then interviewed by EW––saying that the series could possibly have an earlier release date. Most probably reason could be Netflix experiencing a shortage of content to release.

Specifically, Murphy said the following:

“Ratched has been done for six months. So that is definitely mixed and ready to come out in September,” he reflects. “It might be pulled up.”
