Hulu has unveiled the trailer of one of its newest shows and it looks completely badass. We’re talking about ‘Reprisal,’ the neo-noir thriller led by Abigail Spencer.
Spencer plays a femme fatale looking for revenge after being left for dead by her brother and his gang of small-time crooks, “My brother’s gang did me very, very wrong” says Spencer in the trailer, laying out in a simple way what the show will be all about.
Combining a timeless noir look filled with vintage cars, classy clothes and haircuts, and neon signs, with much more modern camera moves, and boisterous violence, ‘Reprisal’ seems to hit all the right spots.
Aside from Spencer who seems to be in the role of her lifetime, we also see Ron Perlman, Rodrigo Santoro, Mena Massoud, David Dastmalchian, Lea DeLaria, and others in the trailer. The show was created by Josh Corbin who exec produces alongside Warren Littlefield who has titles such as ‘Fargo,’ and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ on his back.
“What do you plan to do to them?” asks one character to Spencer in the trailer. And she says “You don’t want to know.” But if you actually want to know, ‘Reprisal’ will premiere on Hulu on December 6. Here’s the official synopsis:
“A hyper-noir story that follows a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, sets out to take revenge against her brother and his bombastic gang of gearheads. Reprisal is created by executive producer and showrunner Josh Corbin and executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Barry Jossen and Jonathan Van Tulleken. Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield serve as co-executive producers. Reprisal is produced by A+E Studios in association with The Littlefield Company.”
