Guilty pleasures, anyone? The perfect topic for a woman who has accidentally (maybe?) revealed yours. Alongside the launch of her popular reality show on TLC two years ago, ‘Dr. Pimple Popper,’ the acne-removing and blackhead-extraction Dr. Sandra Lee has her name all over social media.
For a doctor, getting to a stage where you get more followers than patients is a feat in itself––and Dr. Lee might just be the most famous dermatologist in the world right now. No wonder why Dr. Lee is much more of a celebrity than others––not only does she save thousands of people from acne, but she also has a YouTube channel, a reality TV show, a book, and her own skincare line to boast of.
And that isn’t even the weirdest part. If you’re reading this article about Dr. Lee, then you must have watched at least one of her graphic videos showcasing her removal of blackheads, cysts, and all kinds of facial imperfections. For no found scientific reason at all, people are in love with it.
With that, here’s everything you need to know about Dr. Sandra Lee aka Dr. Pimple Popper!
Sandra Siew Pin Lee was born on the 20th of December, 1970, in Queens, New York. Both her parents were of Chinese descent. After her father retired as a dermatologist, their family lived in poverty and migrated to New York in 1969.
Living in Southern California, Lee went to UCLA as an undergraduate student while working part-time jobs as a medical assistant in Downtown Los Angeles. When she graduated, she moved to Drexel University College of Medicine. However, she finished her dermatology residency at Southern Illinois University and eventually moved to San Diego to build even more skills in her field.
50 years old and looking none like it, Dr. Sandra Lee has maintained a great physique. Boasting of dark brown hair and eyes, she stands at 5 feet and 4 inches (5’4”) in height.
Career and Net Worth:
Way before social media and YouTube success as ‘Dr. Pimple Popper,’ Dr. Lee was working for her dermatology practice which, to this day, is her primary source of income. After finishing her residency, Dr. Lee took it to heart to take over the dermatology role from her dad.
Alongside her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Rebish (also a fellow dermatologist), they run the skincare facility in Upland, California, called Skin Physicians and Surgeons. Reportedly, just a consultation there would amount to $200.
Adding to her specialties as a dermatologist, there’s no running away from how much more money you’ll be making from social media––from brand advertisements to video views. Given the other sources of income like a TV show alongside the skin clinic itself, it has been estimated that Dr. Sandra Lee’s net worth stands at a whopping $5 million!
Who would’ve thought that a dermatologist would amount to that much money? Dr. Sandra Lee does fit the bill for a celebrity, though––the beauty, humour, and letting people bask in their accidental pleasures. At 50 years old, it’s impressive how Lee has transitioned from a professional dermatologist to a social media icon and celebrity. Given her net worth of $5 million, people do have the same tastes.
