‘Selah and the Spades’ premieres on Prime Video this week

Another original Amazon production comes to the streaming platform this week. This time it’s a movie: Selah and the Spades. The plot takes place in a very prestigious boarding school where students are separated into different underground factions, with The Spades being the largest and strongest faction. The story focuses on Selah Summers, a senior year student and the leader of the Spades faction, who is looking for a successor to maintain her legacy when she has to step aside.

From director Tayarisha Poe, Selah and the Spades promise to refresh teenage comedies and dramas, a genre that has not offered a novel and disruptive proposal for a while. This original Amazon show is the perfect opportunity to use our streaming-only reality to discover emerging talent.

It’s not all about watching blockbusters, people.

Take a look at the movie trailer and see what I mean:

You’re not going to wait long. The film premieres at midnight on Friday, April 17th.

As it usually goes with the original Amazon releases, they will be available in the United States a little earlier. Depending on your time zone, you will be able to start watching the movie may be at late night April 16th, but there are no guarantees of that. The only sure thing is that from this Friday, we will be able to enjoy one of the most provocative movie releases of Amazon Prime Video of April.
