Apple TV+ continues to fill its offer with original content. Now we know the streamer has greenlit an interesting project. We’re talking about ‘Severance,’ a thriller that will star Adam Scott and will be directed by Ben Stiller.
With shows such as ‘See,’ and ‘Dickinson,’ we’re noticing that Apple TV+ is loving to bet on risky, ambitious projects. A thriller led by ‘Parks and Recreation’ star, Adam Scott and directed by Ben Stiller seems to fit that mold.
Apple gave a 10-episode order for the show and described it as an “office thriller.” The show will follow Mark, a person who juggles his life as a worker of an organization known as Lumen Industries – which is trying to take work-life stability to a brand new degree – all whereas attempting to place himself again collectively in coping with a darkish private previous.”
Severance was created by Dan Erickson (Influencer’s) who is the writer and producer, joined in the latter by Chris Black (Outcast Star Trek: Enterprise), Adam Scott, Ben Stiller, Nicky Weinstock, and Jackie Cohn. The show is a creating of Endeavor Content.
The most enticing elements of the show are Scott and Stiller outside of comedy. Adam Scott is better known for his role in Parks & Rec, but is not a stranger of more serious endeavors; Stiller is better known for his roles in comedies such as ‘Tropic Thunder,’ and ‘Zoolander.’ It won’t be his first drama behind the camera, as he directed Showtime’s drama limited series ‘Escape at Dannemora.’ Severance will be a reencounter between Scott and Stiller who already worked together in ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ in 2013.
There’s no word on when the production will start or an approximate release date. We hope we know more about it sooner than later.
