Ha! Otis, played by Asa Butterfield, thought he was safe from the already-horrid experience that is Moordale Secondary but just like that, Otis and the whole of Sex Education is finally back! Netflix just released the trailer for Sex Education Season 2, which will be premiering on the 17th of January.
According to the trailer, Season 2 is about to get even more dramatic, I’d say. If you would so kindly remember, Otis and Maeve, played by Emma Mackey, had an underground sex clinic. This season, they were at the brink of giving it up––but Chlamydia happens, completely catching Moordale Secondary off-guard.
To make things better (for us and not Otis), his mother, Jean, played by Gillian Anderson, shares her wonderful insight on sexual health lessons which, in fairness, is her expertise. While we’re on the topic of relationships, this is where Otis’ life comes to a U-turn. Otis, as we know, is becoming a man of his own––having a relationship with Ola, played by Patricia Allison. This is all while Jean and Ola’s dad, Jakob, played by Mikael Persbrandt, are also having a budding relationship of their own! Would you look at that, Otis?
Eric, played by Ncuti Gatwa and also one of my most favorite characters in the show, only had one thing to say: “You finally get a girlfriend, and she’s basically your sister,” and I totally agree. How will this plot out? Eric’s love life will also be flowering this season as a French transfer student has come to his attention––but Eric, what about Adam (Connor Swindells)?
If you haven’t seen the trailer (which I highly doubt you haven’t), then here it is, my friends!
