‘SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run’: Netflix Release Date and Trailer

For all of you SpongeBob fans out there, some great news is incoming from Netflix. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is just around the corner, in fact, it’ll be dropping in November of 2020––currently scheduled to release on the 5th of November, 2020 in most international regions that support Netflix as a streamer.

This Spongebob movie presents a wide array of complications. Just like many of its fellow movies that were supposed to show on the theatres, the film will be premiering on Netflix because of the global pandemic that impacted the whole entertainment industry.

The new and upcoming Spongebob movie is written by, none other than, Tim Hill who was responsible for the Nickelodeon series. The movie will be following the adventure of SpongeBob and Patrick as they make an effort to rescue Gary.

This isn’t the end of all the projects concerning SpongeBob, however, as there are others in development as part of the Netflix and Nickelodeon output deal––those of which are named Netflix Originals.

In July 2020, Variety was the first to report about the SpongeBob: Sponge on the Run and how the streaming giant has picked up the film and its international rights that will surely be including the United States, Canada, and China.

As reported, Netflix is not, in any way, obligated to stick to the decision of Paramount to debut it in 2021. With that being said, the streaming giant really didn’t feel obligated to do it, considering that the release date came way sooner on the 5th of November, 2020.

However, the movie will be available for Netflix Canada, just not at the same time. It’ll be available, and I quote, “won’t be until pay-1” which means it’ll come out the next year.

I’m sure that all of your inner-Spongebob fans are tingling. So, to suppress that here’s a little trailer for you to be excited about!
