‘Suburra: Blood on Rome’ Season 3: Netflix Release Date, Plot, and more about the Italian Series

Back in April 2019, Suburra: Blood on Romewas renewed for a third and, unfortunately, final season. The Italian political thriller is set to release on Netflix at the end of October 2020.

Italy has been bringing the bangers to Netflix recently with the likes of Carlo & Malik. However, the political thriller will be the first Netflix Original from the country.

The series started way back in October of 2017 and the follow-up season arrived on the streaming platform on the 22nd of October, 2019. Kudos to the series, its second season was what really pushed the audience into loving it––eventually asking for more from the streaming giant. It gave the subscribers a glimpse of how the honchos of the underworld make their efforts to control Rome.

Season 3’s announcement for renewal was posted by the official @NetflixIT account. The tweet translates to:

2 April 2019, Terreni de Ostia has conquered all the provinces of Italy. #Suburra will return with a third season.

It wasn’t too much of a shock that the third season of the series will come this year––much less that it’ll come on the month of October considering that both seasons 1 and 2 released then also. News of when it’ll come to the platform, however, came in September with a tweet from @NetflixIT saying that the series will be released globally on the 30th of October, 2020.

Here’s the everything you need to know plot-wise in season 3:

“After the tragic suicide of Lele, unable to live with the sense of guilt generated by the crimes committed, and the unexpected awakening from the coma of Manfredi, head of the Anacleti clan, the balance of power between all characters are again challenged. The third season moves through the streets and alleys of Rome and its province to tell the world of crime even more closely. Who will win the battle to the death to gain power over the city?”
