Hot Rod is the first time we see Andy Samberg on the big screen, and although the film didn’t do fantastic in theaters, it’s pretty good. Directed by Rian Johnson, Knives Out is an old fashion murder mystery with a twisty story and an overbearing family. A murder mystery might not seem funny, but with this cast and the direction of Rian Johnson, the comedy will bring laughs and is a little easy-going at times. At one point, Michael Shannon starts screaming about cookies, so we suggest you give it a watch.

Not only does Mindy Kaling star in this movie, but she also wrote it. The film is about a young woman who joins an all-male writing staff for a declining late-night host. Kaling’s character tries to help turn the show around while dealing with the obstacles of being the only female on the team. The movie is fun and funny but also can get a little emotional at times. The comedy movie is the perfect mix of romance and comedy without all the boy meets girl and falls in love romance.

Instant Family (2018)

Cast: Rose Byrne, Mark Wahlberg, Isabella Mercer, and Gustavo Escobar

Instant Family follows a married couple who has decided to foster three children, including a teenager who couldn’t care less. The movie centers around the struggle and joys of being foster parents, and although it can be emotional because let’s be real, being a parent is hard, it is filled with a lot of laughs and funny moments. The movie has many heartfelt times that a lot of people can relate to, so throw your feet up and prepare for a good laugh.

Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019)

Jillian Bell plays an overweight woman who decides to train and run the New York marathon as a way to get into shape. Getting into shape will also help change her life for the better, she believes, but both positive and negative changes start to happen. The movie is hilarious but also offers a lesson of loving yourself for what you see. There are sweet moments, a little romance, and honestly, a great comedy movie that you probably won’t expect from the description. We suggest you give it a try.

Friends with Kids (2011)

Cast: Adam Scott, Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm, and Kristen Wiig

When all their friends begin to get married and have kids, friends Jason (Adam Scott) and Julie (Jennifer Westfeldt) decide to have a child together without becoming a couple. Instead, the pair call themselves “timeshare” parents so they can experience the joys of parenthood without having to give up all their freedom. Friends with Kids is hilarious and has a bit of romance in it.

Clear History (2013)

Larry David plays Nathan Flomm, an ex-employee of Will Haney (Jon Hamm), set to get revenge after he leaves Haney’s company right before the life changing electric car is announced.
