The series team confirmed the when we’ll enjoy the newest from our favorite (literal) anti-heroes, ‘The Boys’. The series will premiere its second season in early September, with three opening chapters on September 4, and then we’ll see one per week until the season is complete.
‘The Boys’ is one of those series that does not have the recognition it should have, remaining popular only among a very niche audience. It is a satire on the world of superheroes, which in many ways reminds us of ‘Watchmen,’ but with a totally different stamp.
The series will premiere the first three episodes of its second season on Friday, September 4, 2020,. With a new episode every Friday, the second season will end on October 9.
‘The Boys’ is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios with help from Point Gray Pictures, Kripke Enterprises, and Original Film. Based on the New York Times best-selling comic book created by the great Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The series was developed by Eric Kripke, who also created ‘Supernatural.’
This is the synopsis of the second season:
“The Boys are running from the law, being chased by the Supes and desperately trying to regroup and defend themselves from Vought. Secretly, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie, and Kimiko are trying to adapt to a new normality, with Butcher nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile, Starlight must find her place in The Seven as Homelander sets out to take over completely. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront, a new social media savvy new Supe who has her own agenda. As if that weren’t enough, the threat of the Super-Villains takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.”
The series stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, and Aya Cash, among many others. If you have Amazon Prime as your streaming platform, don’t miss the premiere on September 4.
