Netflix has found the secret formula for its shows, and it’s teen-dramas. For starters, the streaming giant saw huge love from both films of The Kissing Booth. Not even a week has passed and they’ve already renewed the films for a 3rd installment coming in 2021.
Returning to the plate are director Vince Marcello, producer Ed Glauser, and even Joey King who will not only be acting for the film but will also serve as an executive producer.
Only two days after The Kissing Booth 2‘s release on the platform, the streaming giant has already announced The Kissing Booth 3. That’s actually insane considering there are series and films that take a bunch of time to be renewed. Netflix really does see its success in teen-dramas.

However, no matter how fast we think it got renewed, it actually does deserve it. Netflix has been taking care of their teen-drama Originals over the past few releases in the course of the last few years. Plus The Kissing Booth 2 is totally annihilating Netflix as of its release.
According to Netflix, The Kissing Booth 3 will be about Elle Evans’ summer before college––where she has to make one of the toughest decisions of her life. Being accepted into two different prestigious colleges, she’s torn between Harvard, which would reunite her with her boyfriend Noah Flynn, or Berkeley, which would reunite her with her best friend and Noah’s brother. She either goes miles away from her boyfriend or her best friend. No saving both.
Oh, and don’t worry about filming and all the physical shenanigans––they’ve already filmed in secret. No COVID-19 delays to be seen here. What’s left of the project, if anything, is its post-production.
We still can’t believe how the cast and the crew got to keep everything in secret that a third installment would be coming right after a second one.
