‘The Man in the High Castle’ is a dystopian historical show. It explores an alternate universe where the Allies lost World War II, and the Axis powers control most of the world, including the US. America has been divided into three main parts: the East Coast, controlled by Nazi Germany, the West Coast controlled by Japan, and the Rocky Mountains as a neutral zone where a resistance movement arises, led by a mysterious person known as ‘The Man in the High Castle’. The Amazon Prime Video’s show is based on Phillip K. Dick’s novel of the same name and the cast is led by Rufus Sewell, Luke Kleintank and Alexa Davalos.
Amazon Prime Video announced Season 4 during San Diego Comic-Con 2019 and said it would be the show’s last run. Premiering in 2015, ‘The Man in the High Castle’ has become one of the signature original shows of the network.
The Man in the High Castle Season 4 Release Date
During the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Amazon Prime Video announced Season 4 would be released on November 15, 2019. As you may remember, the other three seasons of the show also released in the Fall/Winter season, so it makes perfect sense that Amazon keeps a similar release date for Season 4.

The Man in the High Castle Season 4 Trailer and Plot
Throughout its first three seasons ‘The Man in the High Castle’ based on the resistance against the Japanese in the West Coast and the Nazis in the East Coast, as the fights between the Japanese and Germans. As you may know, the show has a sci-fi twist: There are people called travelers that can move through alternate universes, something the Axis powers are not aware of. But as the series is wrapping up, everything is becoming a single, final storyline.
On February 19, 2019, Amazon Prime Video gave us the show’s official teaser trailer. You can check it right here:
Based on the trailers we can see that Juliana Crain (played by Alexa Davalos) will get together with the people she left behind while traveling between universes in Season 3 finale. Also, Season 4 needs to solve the hinging plot of the Japanese and the Nazis, especially the multiverse portal the Nazi built. We’ll probably see John Smith (Rufus Sewell) exploring these events during the final season.
The final season will see the resistance going all-in, moved by Juliana Crain’s (Alexa Davalos) “visions of a better world”, says the official synopsis of the show.
“A new Black insurgent movement emerges to fight the forces of Nazism and imperialism. As Empire’s teeter, Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido, will find himself torn between his duty to his country and the bonds of family.”Meanwhile, Reichsmarschall John Smith (Rufus Sewell) will be drawn towards the portal the Nazis have built to another universe, and the tantalizing possibility of stepping through a gateway to the path not taken.”
To recap season 3, we discover that Julianna is a traveler, and she uses her powers to escape the Nazis. Following the trailer, we’ll see some of Julianna’s time in this alternate universe. We see John Smit trying to help her. In the main universe of the series, Smith is a Nazi, and Julianna’s greatest enemy. In the alternate world, we don’t know who he actually is. Actually, he seems to be a nice person, as in the trailer they are dancing together and we here a Smith’s voice over saying “Julianna, you don’t have to face anything alone.” After these events, Julianna comes back, as the trailer shows.
Another part of the trailer is the new black insurgency, named the Black Communist Rebellion. The trailer shows two new cast members: Bell Mallory, played by Frances Turner and Elijah, portrayed by Clé Bennett. Bell was a prisoner that escaped a Nazi concentration camp and runs away to the Japanese controlled-zone, meets Elijah and join his rebellion against the fascist Japanese regime.
We see some fighting between the Black Rebellion and the Japanese army in the trailer. Lem Washington, a long-time secondary character of the show will be part of the Rebellion with Wyatt Price who Julianna made him join her fight against the Nazis
The trailer is a small taste of what we’ll see in season 4. We’ll probably see the consequences of Helen (Chelah Horsdal), Smith’s wife, dumping him and taking the kids. Another rumor is that the Sabra community – the secret Jewish village in the Neutral Zone- joins the Rebellion.
Whatever happens, one thing is sure: ‘The Man in the High Castle’ Season 4 will be of epic proportions.
