Season 4 of The Masked Singer has just wrapped, it’s time to plan ahead for next year’s season. The hit show has been renewed for a fifth season and fans of the show are delighted.
Rob Wade, President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials at Fox Entertainment released a press release stating:
“I’m so happy to announce a new season of The Masked Singer. This show brings joy to so many families across the country, especially during these trying times, and we can’t wait to get even more celebrities suited up in crazy costumes for an hour of pure fun every week.”
What we know about Season 5
Not a lot of details are out about season 5 of The Masked Singer, but we do know it will premier in 2021. If you follow the trend of The Masked Singer, it will probably premiere sometime in the summer of 2021 or the fall.
If you need a fix though, Fox is airing a Masked Singer spin-off in the spring during the same time slot. January 6 will be the premiere date of The Masked Singer Dancer, a competition based on dancing. The panellist will include Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tinsdale.
So far Fox hasn’t teased who could potentially be on the fifth season of the show. Craig Plestis, one of the executive producers on The Masked Singer, has teased that some famous faces have jumped on board.
He told Entertainment Weekly:
“For casting, so that you know, there’s going to be a couple unbelieve surprises that we’ve never done before. Unbelieve. In season 4 we had some incredible singers. The profiles of these singers were better than any season before, and that bar is high, and we’re trying to surpass that bar for season 5, as well.”
There hasn’t been an official announcement of judges either. Speculation includes Ken, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jenny McCarthy will all return to the show. Everyone is also assuming host Nick Cannon will be back for another season as well.
Where Can you Watch It?
If you don’t have cable, you can head over to Fox’s website the next day and watch the latest episode. Other streaming services like Tubi, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, Youtube TV, and Fubo TV also air episodes.
It doesn’t look like The Masked Singer is going anywhere soon and celebrities seem to love jumping on board the show and singing their hearts out, whether they’re good at it or not. While you wait for the newest season to drop, you can always head over to Amazon Prime and watch a few television shows.
We also won’t spoil who was behind the mask in season 4, but you can easily check around online to see some of the big names that were behind the current season. You might be shocked with what you find out.
