Can you feel how cold it is yet? How the Ber months are slowly creeping in? I’m sure you’re not as time-managed because of the pandemic, but Christmas is coming––and one of the many Christmas bonanzas treat Netflix will be giving out will be the sequel to The Princess Switch which arrived on the streaming platform on the 16th of November, 2018. Two years later, it’s finally here––the sequel is scheduled to arrive in November of 2020 as well, and here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming film!
As you may know, The Princess Switch is one of the many gifts Netflix Christmas has constantly given. With this, it also includes A Christmas Prince as part of the trilogy of movies.
Thankfully, Mike Rohl will be returning to direct the sequel alongside Vanessa Hudgens to play her grudgingly hard roles of both Stacy De Novo and Lady Margaret. Alongside Hudgens, Suanne Braun will also be returning as Mrs. Donatelli, and Mark Fleischmann is set to come back as Frank De Luca.
As for the additions, welcome Charlie Countryman‘s very own Lachlan Nieboer who’s set to play Antonio Rossi for the sequel.
A few changes here and there, however, as the sequel now boasts of a new composer in Alan Ari Lazar to serve as a stand-in for Terry Frewer.
Here’s the synopsis of the upcoming film:
“When Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne to Montanaro and hits a rough patch with Kevin, it’s up to her double Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike, party girl Fiona foils their plans.”
Many people were expecting the sequel, though, as it was already announced and has already begun production in late 2019 alongside reports that suggested that it’d come the year after. Reportedly, IMDbPro stated that the movie went into filming on the 17th of December, 2019, while the post-production stage began on the 25th of February, 2020.
