Three more actors to join Hulu’s ‘Books of Blood’ cast

Andy McQueen (Fahrenheit 451), Freda Foh Shen (Ad Astra) and Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest) have been announced by Hulu to join the cast of ‘Books of Blood’ the film adaptation based on Clive Barker’s horror books. The film was written by Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, who helmed ‘Salem,’ and ‘The Haunting in Connecticut, who adapted short stories by Barker with some of its original, unpublished material.

The movie “takes a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.” The film is exec produced by the directing duo, Seth MacFarlane (yes, the comedian), Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Brian Witten, Jeff Kwatinetz, Josh Barry, Mark Miller, and Barker. It comes from Fox 21 Television Studios and Fuzzy Door Productions.

The cast already included Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron, and Yul Vazquez as its main characters- The movie is set to air in fall 2020, which means filming should be underway shortly.

McQueen will play Steve, a dark hitman who partners with Bennett (Vazquez). Shen will portray Ellie, a former RN who lives with her husband, Sam (played by Campbell), who is a contractor and an easy-going man whose good mood and heart bode well with his wife’s personality; they welcome Jenna (Robertson) as their own daughter.

McQueen recently starred in ‘The Coroner,’ and has played secondary characters in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and ‘Jack Ryan.’ Shen has been seen in shows as ‘The Fix,’ and ‘Elementary.’ Campbell also starred in ‘The Coroner,’ and is best known for his role in ‘Da Vinci’s Inquest.’
