You weren’t the only one fooled by saying goodbye to what we thought was Kimmy Shmidt and the gang’s supposed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt finale, but voila! They’re back––and they’re back with one goal in mind. The next time we’ll be seeing them, they’re on the way to take down the Reverend in Kimmy vs. the Reverend. Everyone was only expecting a film for a series finale but, instead, the producers have decided to end it with a bang––giving us an interactive special.
In the context of Netflix, interactive specials aren’t new anymore––but they do give a certain level of respect and excitement to the viewers. With the likes of Black Mirror‘s Bandersnatch, Kimmy vs. the Reverend watchers will be able to make the decisions themselves––possible either taking the joking route or the serious route. Either way, every decision will be affecting the outcome of the episode. Get your thinking hats ready!
Before she goes toe-to-toe with the Reverend, though, we saw Kimmy Schmidt enjoying her success as a children’s author. As she lives her best life, she finds herself also getting married to Prince Frederick Windsor, played by Daniel Radcliffe.
Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) sets off on her biggest adventure yet. Three states! Explosions! A dancing hamburger! And you, the viewer, get to decide how the story goes. Will you foil the Reverend’s (Jon Hamm) evil plan and get Kimmy to her wedding on time? Or will you accidentally start a war against the robots? So grab your remote and a tray of delicious scrod, ‘cause Kimmy’s got her own Netflix interactive special!
If you haven’t seen the series, add it to your watchlists now! It’s a nice combination of comedy and action, which I bet we all love. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, watch the trailer here!
