With the new year upon us, that means Netflix is adding a slew of shows and television series to their platform. Netflix also removes fan favorites from the list to make way for these new and fresh episodes. This doesn’t mean they’re gone forever, but you won’t see them in the short term.
Here is the full scoop on what is coming and going from Netflix in January.
There are a bunch of Netflix originals that are coming to the platform at the beginning of January. This includes:
-Dream Home Makeover: Season 2
– Headspace Guide to Meditation
–The Minimalist: Less Is Now (documentary)
What Happened to Mr. Cha?
This original Netflix movie follows a superstar who is struggling to restore his glory days as an actor, even if he is past his prime.
Some great movies to tune into include:
-Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
-Catch Me If You Can
-Cool Hand Luke
-Julie & Julia
-Sex and the City: The Movie and Sex and the City 2
Fans will be delighted to know that the Netflix Original History of Swear Words, which was created by Nicolas Cage, will make its debate. The series is hilarious and funny but also engaging and a little educational. Do be warned that obviously there will be a lot of profanity in this series.
¡Nailed it! Mexico will also premiere in January. This is the third season of the hit show Nailed it! Favorites like Nicole Byers will be back this season where they head south of the border and try to recreate masterpieces even with their lack of experience in the kitchen.
Disenchantment: Part 3 is also premiering. This adult animation is following Bean and her group as she strays away from the castle in search of her own destiny that isn’t becoming a queen or princess to a country that doesn’t love her.
Finding Ohana is another Netflix original film where you follow Brooklyn raised siblings as they spend a summer in rural Oahu. They find a journal that sends them on a treasure hunt that includes a fantastic adventure where they meet new friends and let them connect to the Hawaiian heritage.
We will be sad to see them go, but here is what we can expect to see leave Netflix this month.
-The Tudors: Season 1-4
-Mary Poppins Returns
-Dallas Buyers Club
-Braxton Family Values: Seasons 1-2
Netflix is always evolving and changing, which means a variety of shows and movies that come and go. Although some of your shows may be leaving the platform, that means Netflix won’t be bringing them back. You can also expect a lot more originals coming from Netflix, especially with COVID not letting up and companies being forced to send their shows or movies straight to the streaming services.
